An East London council will look to purchase a derelict house that's been covered in scaffolding for more than 15 years. Residents living in Tavistock Avenue, Walthamstow say the "eyesore" property has been uncomfortable to look at for more than a decade, but nothing has been done by the owner to fix.
Neighbours living in the houses closest to 77 Tavistock Avenue - dubbed the 'Ghost House' by members of the community - say problems started when a fire broke out in the neighbouring property which then spread and destroyed it's roof. The owner was forced to move out, leaving it to fall into disrepair ever since.
