Walthamstow's market inside shipping containers which 'could close by Christmas'
The box park central to the regeneration of the St James area has been rumoured to be closing at Christmas
Good afternoon everyone,
CRATE in Walthamstow's St James Street is a real asset to the area and has become a community hub, according to traders who run businesses there and customers who use it. It is an area filled with local businesses in repurposed shipping containers and a big part of the much-needed regeneration project of the St James area.
Despite only opening in 2019, there are rumours over the future of the site which has led to fears that business owners may not have long to find new premises. Our reporter Jake Holden headed down to the hub to speak to traders and find out more about the future holds.
Also today, Unzela Khan spoke to a Black London woman from Walthamstow is paving the way for the diaspora to be proud of their heritage and celebrate Africans who are changing the world.
Thanks as always for your support and have a great weekend,
